Genet Kebede, founder and creative director of Paradise Fashion, is one of the most well-known and popular fashion designers in Ethiopia. After studying fashion design and garment construction in Italy and Argentina, she created her own label-Paradise Fashion- in 1992. Inspired by her beloved Ethiopian "Hager- Lebse (traditional Ethiopian cloth)" and the wonderful textiles of Ethiopia, Paradise Fashion is making contemporary Ethiopian fashion and bridal wear for Ethiopian women at home and around the world.
There are 17 permanent employees (15 females, 2 males) and 60 temporary employees (15 females, 45 males). Of the 17 permanent employees three women are in managerial position.
Paradise Fashion began exporting in 2013 to Anthropology UK and USA.
Paradise Fashion provides skills training, medical coverage, education opportunities and career advancement for its employees, sustainable income to weavers and sewing training to mothers with low income.
